Enode 2024 recap: milestones and moments to celebrate

When you’re a part of a fast-paced, steadily growing startup, every year feels momentous. 2024 was certainly no different, bringing with it lots of overcome challenges, incredible achievements, and fond memories we’ll be looking back at with pride for years to come.

Here is a summary of Enode’s 2024 highlights, starting with what makes everything we do possible: our people.

The people perspective

With 18 new colleagues joining us in 2024, Enode now has a team that’s over 50 strong. From customer success to engineering and design, every part of our organization has grown. We are so grateful for the amazing new joiners that have helped us find new solutions and aim higher – every new contributor has truly made an impact from day one.

Besides a number of smaller, team-based offsites, the entire Enode team had the opportunity to get together twice this year. First, for a couple of days at the Enode summer party in Oslo, where we got to enjoy the beautiful Nordic scenery for some more relaxed fun.

Later in the year, we gathered in for an unforgettable week-long bash in the magical Crete. Filled with inspiration, collaboration, adventures and festivities across five days – each one focusing on celebrating one of our values. We discovered our individual strengths. Sunbathed. Discussed the overall company direction. Revelled in lots of mouth-watering delicacies. Shared our knowledge and passion with colleagues in Open Space meetings. Learned to dance, Greek style. And rounded it all out with our most intense edition of the Enode Games competition yet. It was incredible to see how the team has expanded and evolved since last year’s offsite in Costa Brava.

The relentless product refinement

Thanks to the ingenuity – and the growing numbers – of our product, design, engineering and customers success experts, this year also saw incredible advances and hard-fought wins in terms of improving the Enode product and offering overall.

The Enode changelog has had its busiest year ever, having pinged with over 60 updates – including smaller as well as massive changes. This number, however, does not reflect all the work that goes on behind the scenes. 2024 saw 700+ bug fixes, and 800+ tickets resolved to help our customers have (as well as provide) a smoother experience using Enode.

Our capabilities have kept expanding, and reached a new milestone in May, when our coverage grew to 1000+ devices (and that number has kept growing throughout the year, and we believe we might be celebrating a new milestone soon – watch this space 😉). Besides the increase in devices, support has expanded for over 30 brands across all categories.

While increasing the quantity of connections helps our customers serve more users, our bigger focus remains on ensuring quality for all our connections. Improvements to quality don’t often get announced and celebrated to the same extent, but this year our team has made heroic efforts to improve existing connections and simplify the linking experience for key vendors.

Increasing the Enode footprint

While we think it’s important to celebrate our internal wins and efforts, everything we do is ultimately in service of the impact Enode is able to make externally.

We are only able to reach real people and bring about tangible changes to the way they consume energy and interact with their devices thanks to the work that is done by our customers. They are the ones creating the apps and services that are providing added value to consumers.

This year, over 30 of our customers have gone live with new offerings made possible by integrating with Enode. We are constantly in awe of their dedication and effort to improving the experience for consumers, and bringing new possibilities to market – and are proud that Enode can play a part in helping them realize their vision.

We look forward to the continued work ahead in enabling more trailblazing companies to up their energy offering. This year, over 45 new companies have signed on as Enode customers, so we can look forward to a lot more exciting and impactful launches to come.

Another highlight in terms of ‘taking over the world’ is that in 2024, Enode started making a bigger mark by increasing our physical presence at events. Being able to attend several events throughout Europe and the US, gave our team the opportunity to meet and have meaningful exchanges with our customers, as well as enriching discussion with other industry leaders.

And more milestones and achievements are already underway, with some big updates and exciting announcements coming up early in 2025. We look forward to another year of hard work, learning, improving and setting the bar ever higher.
